NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Open only to legal residents of the KSHB viewing area in Missouri and Kansas, who are 18 years of age or older as of date of entry. Void wherever prohibited by law. Individuals who have won prizes from promotions sponsored by Scripps Media, Inc. d/b/a KSHB-TV in the past 30 days are not eligible. Employees of Scripps Media, Inc. d/b/a KSHB-TV, A.B. May Company (collectively, “Sponsor”), their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers and the immediate family members (spouse, mother, father, in-laws, grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister, children and grandchildren) and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor.

1) Beginning 12:01 AM Central Time 10/5/2011 through 11:59 PM Central Time 9/30/2012 (“Entry Period”), go to www.kshb.com and follow the on-screen instructions to enter.

On a 3x5 card, hand print your complete name, street address (no P.O. Boxes), city, state, zip code, date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy), plus daytime and evening telephone numbers. (If you do not have a telephone, state “No Phone.” Failure to comply with this or any other official rule will result in disqualification.) Mail your entry in a hand-addressed, business-size envelope (#10) with first-class postage, to: 3 Degree Warranty contest, 4720 Oak Street, Kansas City, Missouri, 64112. Limit one entry per envelope.

 

2) Watch 41 Action News at 10:00PM each weeknight during the Entry Period and a KSHB meteorologist will give their 3 Degree Warranty high temperature prediction for the following day. If the day’s high temperature prediction by KSHB meteorologist is within 3 degrees, above or below, of the official high temperature of the day as recorded at Kansas City International Airport (KCI), a randomly selected entrants’ name will be announced on air on the 10:00PM news, the night after the prediction was made and that entrant will be a “Qualifier” and entered into the monthly drawing for a chance to win the Monthly Grand Prize.

Limit one entry per person/household address regardless of method of entry. No mechanically reproduced entries of any kind permitted. Illegible and incomplete entries are void. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, mutilated, postage due, misdirected entries or entries not received. In the event of a dispute over who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail account identified on the online entry form. The authorized account holder is deemed to be the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider, or online organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.

RANDOM DRAWING: Qualifiers will be selected by random drawing every applicable day before the 41 Actions News at 10:00PM and will be entered into the monthly drawing for a chance to win the Monthly Grand Prize. On the last weekday of each calendar month, a KSHB meteorologist will draw the name of the Monthly Grand Prize winner, from all eligible Qualifiers names selected during that same calendar month. If winner is not announced on the last day of the month, winner will be announced on the next weekday during 41 Action News. Decisions of Sponsor are final on all matters. Winners will be notified on air during the 10:00PM news and by phone or email. Limit one prize per person/household address. Odds of being a Qualifer will depend upon the number of eligible entries received. Odds of being a Monthly Grand Prize winner will not be greater than the number of Qualifers randomly selected that month.

PRIZES: (12) Twelve Grand Prize Winners – each month October 2011 through September 2012, each winner will each receive one (1) $750 A.B. May certificate valid at AB May for any goods or services in which they provide (ARV: $750). Some restrictions apply. Expires one year from the date issued. Prize consists of only those items specifically listed as part of the prize. No substitution or transfer/assignment of prize by winners permitted. Subject to all terms, conditions and restrictions on certificate or imposed by issuer. If by reason of printing or other error, more prizes are claimed than the number of prizes set forth in these Official Rules, a random drawing will be held to award the advertised number of prizes in the relevant category. Under no circumstances will more than the advertised number of prizes be awarded.

All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of winners. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Potential winners (or parent/legal guardian if potential winner is a minor in his/her state of residence) may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability/Prize Acceptance Form, which may require social security number, postmarked within 10 days of the date on notification materials. Noncompliance within this time period and/or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and an alternate potential winner may be selected by random draw from all remaining eligible entries. All winners must produce picture or some other form of proper identification to claim any prize. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize with prize of equal or greater value. Acceptance of any prize constitutes permission to the Sponsor to use winners’ name, voice, statements, image and likeness for purposes of advertising and trade, in any medium, without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Submission of contact information in connection with this Sweepstakes (whether or not required), including mailing address, phone number, and email address, during entry constitutes permission for Sponsor to add entrant to Sponsor’s customer database and to contact entrant in the future for promotional and other reasons. You may opt-out of receiving such communications as set forth in Sponsor’s Privacy Policy (located at www.nbcactionnews.com) or as provided within any such marketing materials (e.g., using the “Unsubscribe” feature provided in the footer of Sponsor’s emails).

TERMS: Sponsor not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing, the offering or the announcement of any prize or in the administration of the promotion, whether caused by computer, technical or human error. Winners assume all liability and agree to hold Sponsor harmless for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this promotion or use or redemption of any prize. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, incomplete, illegible, faulty, or incorrect transmissions, incorrect announcements of any kind, technical hardware or software failures of any kind, any damage to any person's computer related to or resulting from participating in the online portion of the promotion, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission that may limit a user’s ability to participate in the sweepstakes whether caused by computer, technical or human error. All terms of promotion shall be construed according to, and any disputes shall be subject to, the laws of the State of Missouri. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the program for any reason, including but not limited to, if fraud, misconduct or technical failures destroy the integrity of the promotion; or if a computer virus, bug, wireless failure, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper administration of the promotion as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify, freeze or prohibit the participation of an individual if fraud or tampering is suspected, or if the individual fails to comply with any requirement of participation or with any provision in these Official Rules. Any attempt to undermine the operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal & civil laws. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify and/or seek damages from any individual making any such attempts to the full extent permitted by law.
